Libertarians seek to maximize political freedom and autonomy, emphasizing freedom of choice, voluntary association and individual judgement. The dominant form of libertarianism in the United States advocates for civil liberties, natural law, free-market capitalism and a major reversal of the modern welfare state.
The main disagreement with Libertarianism is that their support of laissez-faire (unregulated, free market) capitalism does not necessarily produce the best or most efficient outcomes, nor does it prevent the abuse of natural resources.
Progressives believe that government should guarantee and protect freedoms for human beings, not corporations.
What is/was Liberalism, REALLY?
