The Lesson Of COVID-19
How have Progressives faced the new and different challenges during 2020?
They had a LOT of time on their hands.
Their initial thought was to cover their ass.
They went shopping and stocked up on food and toilet paper.
They ate. Then they ate some more.
They got bored.
They organized their stuff.
They exercised.
They rested.
They were concerned about those who were ill.
They grieved for the dead.
They worried about their own health.
They worried about money.
They went on social media.
They expressed their opinions.
They saw "the dark sides" of their family and friends.
They realized that people would not agree upon what constituted “the truth.”
They started to think.
They wondered about what was happening.
They sought answers to their questions.
They “surfed” the internet.
They learned that there were very many things of which they were previously unaware.
They questioned their previous beliefs.
They realized that “the truth” pouring from the endless stream of mainstream media was just one perspective.
They realized that “science” and “statistics” are not the same, and that neither provided “the truth” but merely provided different perspectives.
They realized that nearly everyone has an agenda and that powerful forces were promoting their agendas with very powerful propaganda.
They meditated.
They were inspired.
They prayed.
They were blessed.
They struggled with their inner demons.
They looked deep inside themselves where, much to their delight…
They found their higher and better self.
They found hope to replace their despair.
They found appreciation for things that they had overlooked.
They found gratitude to replace their bitterness.
They found inner calm to replace their panic.
They found humility to replace their vanity.
They found forgiveness to replace their desire for revenge.
They found courage to replace their fear.
They found purpose and meaning to replace their doubt.
They found trust to replace their suspicion.
They found joy to replace their sorrow.
They found love to replace their hate.
They found kindness to replace their cruelty.
They found empathy to replace their self absorption.
They found generosity to replace their greed.
They found enthusiasm to replace their apathy.
They found that everything they ever wanted was always right there inside all along.
They decided to stop complaining and criticizing without offering solutions.
They learned to focus on the things that really matter.
They dedicated themselves to creating a better world.
